Before there were clients, campaigns or awards, there was a simple challenge: building a portfolio from scratch.
At the time, most of my professional work had been created for major agencies under confidentiality agreements, making it impossible to showcase publicly. Without a portfolio to present and without a studio to represent, I decided to create my own opportunity.
While traveling through France, I began photographing airports, public parks and urban landscapes with a Nikon camera, capturing locations that would later become the foundation of a personal artistic experiment. Back in Bogotá, I combined those photographs with CGI and digital compositing to create a series of surreal creatures that blurred the line between nature, technology and imagination.
The original goal was modest: to have the collection selected by a local gallery.
It wasn't.
So, with nothing to lose, I submitted the series to the prestigious Lürzer's Archive "200 Best Digital Artists Worldwide" selection.
To my surprise, the project was accepted.
That recognition became one of the first major milestones in my independent career and helped open the doors that would eventually lead to the creation of Madness Studio.
Looking back, these images represent much more than a personal art project. They are the starting point of a journey that would later evolve into international campaigns, commercial productions and collaborations with global brands.
Every studio has an origin story.
This is ours.
The challenge was simple but deeply personal: create a body of work capable of representing my creative vision without the support of clients, budgets or commercial briefs.
Each image had to stand on its own, combining photography, CGI and digital art to create a unique visual language that felt both surreal and believable.
The collection was selected for publication in Lürzer's Archive's international showcase of digital artists, becoming one of the first public recognitions of my independent work.
More importantly, it became the foundation upon which Madness Studio was built.
Madness Studio is a CGI, AI Film and real-time production company creating premium visual content for global brands.
